In the Beginning

We are going to try something different this week.  I have written a few journals as a tool to help memorize scripture. This is a very very great challenge to me and it may be to you also. I would like to take the next few weeks and memorize a few verses with you.  You will need to keep this email for a week so you are able to look at each days question to help us memorize and understand the passage.
I hope to lead us through the gospel message by beginning in the beginning and following it through to the fall and redemption.  I think it would be great if we were able to know the gospel in our hearts so when we are going throughout our days we are able to recall how great our God is and His amazing love for His children!

The verse for week 1 is Genesis 1:1,31

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God saw that all that He had made , and it was very good.

Day 1 question - Who created the heavens and the earth?  What does Psalm 102:25-27 say?

In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.  They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment.  Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded.  But you remain the same, and your years will never end.

What encourages you as you read these scriptures?

Day 2  Genesis 1:1,31

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God saw that all that He had made , and it was very good.

 How did God make all things? Check out Jeremiah 10:12-13
12 But God made the earth by his power;
   he founded the world by his wisdom
   and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.
13 When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar;
   he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth.
He sends lightning with the rain
   and brings out the wind from his storehouses.

What do you like best as you read the Jeremiah passage?

Day 3 Genesis 1:1,31

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God saw that all that He had made , and it was very good.

He made you!! What does it say about you in Psalm 139:13-14?
13 For you created my inmost being;
   you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
   your works are wonderful,
   I know that full well.

Day 4 Genesis 1:1,31

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God saw that all that He had made , and it was very good.

What do you think of as you read the memory verse today?

Day 5 Genesis 1:1,31

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God saw that all that He had made , and it was very good.

Can you say or type the verse from Genesis from memory?  Write one thing you learned or encouraged you this week from the scriptures we read?

Thanks so much for your time today and this week!  Enjoy the week I pray God will become more real and more great in each of our lives this week!
